When you feel like you've lost everything behind the moon
Dr Francois Swart, chairperson of IMSA Cape Region and IMSA board member, shares the following encouragement to the workplace. The experience of astronauts losing sight of Earth behind the moon reminds us how disorienting life can feel when we lose our point of reference. In the same way, work and daily responsibilities can sometimes overwhelm us, leaving us feeling lost, burdened, and without direction.
Yet, God’s Word reminds us that work is not meaningless—it is part of His original design. We are called to be stewards of His creation, working with purpose, humility, and dependence on His wisdom. When we feel disconnected or uncertain, God remains our true anchor and guide.
Industrial Ministry exists to support and encourage both employees and employers to rediscover this sense of purpose and direction in their work.
